My chimney only vents the furnace. Does it still need attention?
It needs it more than a fireplace does. That flue carries carbon monoxide every day through the winter, and unlike a fireplace, you're not standing in front of it watching how it behaves.
How would I know if my chimney has no liner?
From the firebox or from the top you'd be looking at brick instead of clay tile sections. It isn't always visible without a camera, which is why the scan is part of our inspection rather than an extra.
Is relining expensive?
It's a real cost, and it's a lot less than the alternative. We put the price in writing after the camera scan, so you know the number before you commit to anything.
