Chimney Sweep in Kennett Square, PA
Two jobs, one visit. Kennett Square is where most of our customers book the chimney and the dryer vent together, and where the older borough housing makes the inspection worth as much as the sweep.
Serving the borough, Kennett Township, Unionville, Toughkenamon, New Garden and Hamorton.
One visit covers
- Full chimney sweep and safety check
- Dryer vent cleared end to end
- Cap, crown and flashing checked from the roof
- Damper operation and seal
- Findings and photographs before we leave
Why we bundle these here
A chimney sweep and a dryer vent cleaning use different tools but the same visit. Both are annual jobs, both are about clearing a duct that has filled with something flammable, and both get put off for exactly the same reason: nothing looks wrong from where you are standing.
The chimney
Creosote condenses out of wood smoke onto the flue wall and is fuel. Enough of it, and a hot fire can ignite it inside the chimney where it will crack tile and reach the framing. Annual sweeping is the whole prevention strategy.
The dryer vent
Lint gets past the screen on every load and settles in the duct. As it restricts, the dryer runs longer and hotter, which is both the reason your clothes are still damp and the reason lint fires start.
Doing both in one visit is cheaper than two appointments and it means one date in your calendar instead of two. Both jobs are done by the same crew off the same trucks, so it is not a subcontractor showing up. See dryer vent cleaning for the full detail.

Can you do the chimney and the dryer vent in one visit?
Yes, and it is what most of our Kennett Square customers do. One trip, one call, and it costs less than booking the two separately.
How do I know the dryer vent is the problem and not the dryer?
If clothes need a second cycle, the machine runs hot to the touch, or the laundry room gets humid, the vent is the first suspect. New machines with the same symptom point at the duct even more strongly.
Our house is in the borough and quite old. Does that change the sweep?
It changes what we check. Older borough houses often have unlined flues, multiple flues in one stack, and soft original mortar, so the inspection carries more weight than the sweep does.
Do you cover Unionville, Toughkenamon and New Garden?
Yes, along with Hamorton, Kennett Township and the Longwood area.
